Since my transcripts were up to date the day Steam gutted us, adding the offset to their ~number~ shows us well over 1200 comments.

Well yeah, the other day an idea came to my mind but it was just some random stuff with little to no sense, but whatever , I’ll post it here anyway. It’s much better than just forgetting it, that’s for sure.
I was thinking about Yuri’s book ( yet again, I know) The so-called “Portrait of Markov” .
I thought that the first person that probably had read it was Monika since she was the first character to be “created” and all. And the theory is, what if the book is the reason Monika became sentient?
I mean, you don’t severely change out of the blue. At least, there must be a reason or something first to start such a change .
Did she ever tell us how she actually began to the see the world plain and fake? Or why?
And it’s pretty obvious that she actually had read the book because in the Void she comments us that we should forget about it.
But is “Portrait of Markov” actually a book? What if it’s a virus or something similar? A script maybe? Everyone that reads it changes, and that includes Yuri.
The more you read it, the more it affects you. Of course it’s not immediate, but sooner or later, it influences you one way or another.
Its contents? Or either what Yuri says is true and it’s actually about the “facility” but it underhandedly messes you up, or what Yuri sees is just a facade and its true contents are only for those who see how things actually are. That is to say Monika, of course.
This far-fetched idea only explains how all of this probably began and has possibly nothing to do with some of the events that happen during the game ( why Sayori becomes sentient too , Natuski’s “degeneration” etc)
I know it has some flaws, but like I’ve said in the beginning of this rather brief wall of text, these were just some random thoughts that suddenly sprung to my mind.
But we can agree that there’s nothing like a good book, am I right? Ahaha

Might also come back here if there are any DDLC easter eggs in the new game, especially if they help advance the story/theories. Other than that, there isn’t much left to say. I still give DDLC props for staying with me so long. Never had a game in my head as long as this one.

Here’s a scrap of dAta I copied when Steam reckoned I wasn’t allowed to comment
Even when we’d reached 1111 comments and Steam gutted us, we kept going. We recovered the numbers from our transcripts but that doesn’;t coun in Steam’s suppurating vision but we’ve struggled back almost to a peak. Meanwhile, we’ve contacted the developer and gifted him a comprehensive transcription. Never expecting more than to thank him for the DDLC experience,
To our surprise, we received a cordial response,
We continued on, and built a website. We’re getting visitors from over 70+ countries ( have not done the latest csv count,
We could not have accomplished this on our own. We thank the Team Salvato product “EXPERIENCE” and somehow gathered a crew of like-minded strangers to reach this point.
I think we made history on a micro scale – and no one cares. And that does not matter at all.

good morning (for me) guys. I joined Steam about three years ago solely because I’d backed a Kickstarter project and was a beta tester. (sphereFACE, a godawful mistake). I hadn’t been into the forums as a participant at all until DDLC and DS even changed that.
I never imagined there would be such fun and challenge in dissecting a ‘game’ with an ad hoc crew all working together for the same goal.

We were at 1198 and also connected on an etherpad where we collaborate on a project … UUUwa … forget I said that … anyway we coordinated and the deed was done, so it’s alreaady transcribed and soon to be on website … wot he said above goes for me too
