This snip from W. B. Yeats in 1919, his poem “The Second Coming” …
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
How appropriate for the Literature Club and how aptly it describes Act Two.
There’s a small chance of a ‘ghost’ menu, you’ll know it when you see it. Even the regular menu has a 1-in-4 chance of an alternate splash screen with eleven variations. The music will be slightly ‘off’. Or more so, depending on the scene.
A 2% chance of opening the in-game menu will show a ‘ghost’ Monika briefly.
The classroom notice board at the back may have one poster replaced with a hanged Sayori CG image any time during Act Two. (BTW, I’m certainly not going for 100% spoilers, oh no. I want you to have the satisfaction of finding the unexpected. Heh heh.)
Okay, everyone. The first scene starts and quickly crashes. On restart, Sayori is missing from the title screen, it reprises Act One except …
label ch20_main2: "It's an ordinary school day, like any other." "Mornings are usually the worst, being surrounded by couples and friend groups walking to school together." "Meanwhile, I've always walked to school alone." "I always tell myself it's about time I meet some girls or something like that..." "But I have no motivation to join any clubs." "I'm perfectly content just getting by on the average while spending my free time on games and anime." "There's always the anime club, but it's not like there would be any girls in it anyway..."
MC has wasted his day and sits in an otherwise empty classroom, trying to find some motivation. Monika finds him there while looking for poster supplies. She escorts him to the third floor and introduces him to her two club members.
With a little urging, with four members we could be an official club, he joins.
But he’s found his motivation, incredibly cute girls.
Remember those special poems? Of course you do. The mc, for the first time, has the opportunity to read one. Or not. (Would any [player] do that?)
